Venable LLP Adds CFPB Regulatory Attorney In Washington

Richard Andrew Arculin, former senior counsel for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureaus (CFPB) Office of Regulations, has joined law firm Venable LLP as a counsel in its Washington, DC, office.

While serving at the CFPB, Arculin was responsible for the development and implementation of consumer financial services regulations under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.

Arculin regularly served as the agencys expert concerning mortgage and consumer credit matters. Further, he led a bureau-wide effort to support the implementation of the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosures rule.
